Rockaway Herbs is a botanical company based in the Edgemere neighborhood in Far Rockaway, NY. The mission of Rockaway Herbs is to connect people with the healing plants in their community. Through selling high quality herbal products and sharing knowledge about plant medicine, our goal is to assist others with building their own herbal apothecaries and increase the use of plants for health.
Heidi Woolever founded Rockaway Herbs in 2014 after moving to New York City after 7 years of sheep farming in Southern Maine and Greene County, New York. Previous to farming, she was a high school teacher in Washington DC. In 2014, she studied with Milk and Honey Herbs, and in 2016 she completed 150 hours of advanced herbalism training with the Twin Star School of Herbal Medicine. Currently a seasonal farmer at Queens County Farm Museum in Floral Park, NY. Heidi continues to produce products in lovingly crafted small batches using only the freshest plant material while continuously deepening her knowledge of plants and how they can support us throughout our lives.
Rockaway Herbs successfully employed a 20 member Herbal CSA model in 2017, with four seasonal shares that spanned 32 products from oxymels to smudge sticks and many tinctures, teas and salves in between.
